Baseball

Bennett’s Creek Little League offers the following five (5) coed divisions of baseball for players ages seven (7) through sixteen (16). These divisions are based upon the player’s age, experience, and development.

Note: Bennett’s Creek Little League reserves the right to place players in the division that is most appropriate for their skill level and maturity as observed by coaches and the League Player Agent.

Minor Hybrid Division (ages 7-8):
Our Hybrid Minor division is baseball for boys and girls that are seven (7) to eight (8) years old. Players start their at bat by receiving three pitches from the opposing team's pitcher (player pitch). If they are not able to put the ball into play, they will receive additional pitches from their coach (coach pitch). Players will begin to learn more advanced fundamentals of baseball while learning what it means to be a part of a team. The Hybrid division helps teach them how to pitch and how to hit off of a pitcher. Once your player ages up to the Minor Player Pitch division, they will be ready for the challenge of playing without a coach pitching to them. All Minor Hybrid practices and games are played at Bennett’s Creek Little League.

Minor Player Pitch Division (ages 8-10):
Our Minor Player Pitch division is a coed baseball division for players ages eight (8) through ten (10). The goal of this division is to prepare players for eventual selection to a Major Division team. The Minor division is structured to provide flexibility, player development, and most importantly, fun! This division offers postseason tournament play (All Stars) where teams can advance up to State Level. Players in this division MUST attend tryouts even if they are returning to the Minor Player Pitch division from the previous spring season. Teams are selected by draft. Historically all Minor Player Pitch practices and games have been played at Bennett’s Creek Little League. There is the possibility that players in this division will have to travel within our District for away games if we do not have enough teams to play in house.

Major (Little League) Division (ages 10-12):
The Major division, also known as the Little League division, is coed baseball for ages ten (10) through twelve (12). Major baseball allows children to experience an advanced level of play and prepares them for tournament play. This division offers postseason tournament play (All Stars) where teams can advance up to the Little League World Series. Players in this division MUST attend tryouts unless they are a returning Major player from the previous spring season and have not been requested to be released from their previous team. Teams are selected by draft. Practices and home games are played at Bennett’s Creek Little League. Away games will be played at other Little Leagues within our district.

Intermediate (50/70) Division (ages 12 & 13):
The Intermediate division is coed baseball for ages twelve (12) and thirteen (13). It is a transitional program that uses 50-foot pitching distances and 70-foot base paths. This division offers postseason tournament play (All Stars) where teams can advance up to the Little League World Series. Players in this division MUST attend tryouts unless they are a returning Intermediate player from the previous spring season and have not been requested to be released from their previous team. Teams are selected by draft. Practices and home games are played at Bennett’s Creek Little League. Away games will be played at other Little Leagues within our district.

Senior Division (ages 13-16):

Players in this division MUST attend tryouts unless they are a returning Senior player from the previous spring season and have not been requested to be released from their previous team. Teams are selected by draft. Practices and home games are played at John Yeates Middle School. Away games will be played at other Little Leagues within our district.
